The first version was PLA, and it cracked at the clamp after a week of headphones going on and off. PETG flexes a little instead of snapping, which is what a clamp needs.

Orientation matters more than infill here. Printed flat, the hook breaks along the layer lines. On its side, the layers run along the load and it holds.
